When I was a kid and my parents took my sister and I out to eat, we were instructed to order water with our meals. Water was free and healthy for us. Soda and milk cost money, and we were too young to drink coffee. So water it was.
My point is this: ordering beverages when you go out to eat is costly, and can add hundreds of dollars per year to your restaurant bills. Alcoholic drinks are especially costly with some mixed drinks running $12-15 per drink where I live. If you stick with water (or if you want to splurge and order carbonated water, go ahead), you can easily save $500+ per year on your restaurant tabs! Make your coffee at home, grab coffee on the go sparingly (and look for freebies and check out this post on how to earn free Starbucks coffee using apps). If you stick to this rule, you will be ahead financially!
